What I've read so far this month...

January is a weird month, it's still cold, everyone is back from Christmas, it's still dark and, let's face it, we all just want to stay in pj's all day and read.

Right?

Or is that just me?

I set a reading goal of 150 books this year, which is actually less than last year. I wanted to spend the time focussing and enjoying the stories, taking my time and trying to wrestle with the inner demons who tell me to read 'just one more chapter...' at 1am.

I also seem to have fallen down author rabbit holes. Does anyone else do this? I read one book of theirs and then I have to immediately consume their entire back catalogue...

January has seen me read a lot of Ivy Asher and Zoey Draven, with more sat in my TBR pile.

My other New Year's resolution was to finally whittle down that TBR list that I have saved to Amazon. Sounds easy enough right? BUT you forget that I trawl Reddit everyday looking for more book recommendations which then get added to this list.

It's a never ending cycle!!

So the books I have read so far are:

  • Ivy Asher:

    • Into Their Woods (reverse harem)

    • Order of the Scorpions (reverse harem, standalone)

    • Osseous Chronicles (3 book series consisting of The Bone Witch, The Blood Witch and The Bound Witch)

  • Choosing Her Alpha - Isoellen (an Omegaverse book, which I don't usually read, but it was recommended)

  • The Lost God series by Sheila Masterson (read book 1 and paused in the middle of book 2 as I was getting annoyed by the characters)

  • The Horde Kings of Dakkar series by Zoey Draven (think Ganes of Thrones on an alien planet)

  • The Vicious Lost Boys series by Nikki St Crowe (reverse harem)

  • Rabid by Ivy Asher & Raven Kennedy

  • Seduction of a Psychopomp by Elsie Winters (this was in the running for my January favourite)

  • The Shades of Sin series by Colette Rhodes (have only read up to the novella Tristitia but am aiming to continue this series as it's fun)

  • Crawl by Audrey Rush (dark romance)

  • Throne of the Fallen by Kerri Maniscalco

  • Muscles and Monsters by Ashley Bennett

  • The Dark Verse series by RuNyx (dark romance)

  • Guarded by the Kraken by Cassie Alexander (part of the Monster Security Agency series, which I read the majority of last year)

As you can see, a busy start to the year! I do have a favourite which I'll be announcing next week on my Instagram, so make sure you head over there and drop me a follow.

Till next week friends!!

Little Redd xx
